Terms of service

These terms apply to directorybuilder.com (the "service"). By using it you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

What the service is

DirectoryBuilder generates reports that estimate the demand, competition and supply for a niche directory website, together with a suggested plan. Reports are built from third-party keyword, search-result and business data and from text drafted by an AI model. They are estimates to inform a decision, not a guarantee of any outcome.

Accounts

You can use the service without an account. Creating one (by email link or Google) lets you keep reports private and raises your daily limit. You are responsible for the email account you sign in with; anyone who can read a sign-in link sent to it can sign in as you. Tell us if you believe your account was used by someone else.

Reports and visibility

• A report started without an account is public. It stays out of the library for 24 hours so you can claim it with a free account; after that it appears in the library and may be indexed by search engines and shared by anyone.
• A report started with an account is private to you until you make it public. Private means only you can open it; it is still stored on our servers and visible to us for operating the service.
• You can make a report public or private, or delete it, from your account page. Making a report public grants us a non-exclusive right to display it on the service and in search results. Deleting a public report removes it from the service but not from copies others may have made.
• If several people enter the same niche and location they get the same public report. Nothing you type is treated as confidential unless the report is private.

Free use and limits

The service is free within the limits shown on the site: a number of new reports per day for visitors and a higher number for free accounts. Reports already in the library can be opened without limit. We may change the limits, add paid plans, or withdraw the service at any time. A paid plan, if you buy one, will have its own terms and refund conditions stated at purchase.

Acceptable use

Do not:

• run reports with scripts, bots, multiple accounts or other means of getting around the daily limits;
• scrape, bulk-download or republish the library of reports or their data;
• use the service to harass anyone, to build something unlawful, or to probe or disrupt our systems;
• misrepresent a report as independent research or as endorsed by us.

You may quote and link to individual reports, including in articles, newsletters and social posts, with attribution to DirectoryBuilder. We may block, rate-limit or delete accounts and reports that break these rules.

No warranty

The service is provided "as is". Search volumes, rankings, traffic figures and business counts come from third-party sources and change over time; the plan and verdict text is generated by an AI model and can be wrong. We do not warrant that reports are accurate, complete or current, that the service will be available without interruption, or that a directory built on a report will succeed. Decisions you make based on a report are yours.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from your use of or inability to use the service. For a free service our total liability for any claim is limited to EUR 100; for a paid plan, to the amount you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Intellectual property

The service, its design, code and the compiled form of the reports are ours. The underlying facts in a report (search volumes, rankings, business counts) are not owned by anyone and you are free to use them. Third-party names and marks that appear in reports belong to their owners.

Relationship to Directify

DirectoryBuilder is operated by the maker of Directify, a directory website builder. Reports end with a button that opens Directify with the report's plan; using it is optional and Directify has its own terms and privacy policy.

Privacy

How we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

Ending things

You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we discontinue the service; where reasonable we will give notice.

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of Bulgaria, without affecting mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the current version, and continued use after a change means you accept it. Questions: [email protected].
